Stranded fisherman in 14 falls rescued, he was airlifted by NPSC Chopper

A Five Minute Ride In A Police Chopper By Vincent Musila Is An Adventure He Had Waited For, For Many Years. But Due To The Heavy Rains, It Turned Out To Be More Than He Had Bargained For. It Took The Intervention Of Police Officers To Rescue Him After He Was Marooned For Three Days And Nights At The Fourteen Falls In Thika. The Young Man Was Airlifted On A National Police Service Helicopter Yesterday Evening From The Flooded River Athi In Kiambu County As Relieved Villagers Cheered On. Musila, A Fisherman Had Gone To Lay His Fishing Nets On A Section Of The River Using His Canoe That Fateful Evening At Around 9 Pm. 

As The Night Progressed The River Began To Swell Following Heavy Downpour Upstream And Even Sweeping Away His Canoe As He Sought Refuge In An Island Within The River. He Spent The Chilly Night At The Spot Fearing For The Worst As Heavy Rains Pounded The Area On Saturday Night And Sunday Morning. Area MCA Joachim Mwangi Njama Intervened And Contacted The Interior Ministry Who Sent A National Police Chopper To Scene To Rescue The Man.
