Senate Committee on Agriculture has called on the Minister of Agriculture Mwangi Kiunjuri to urgently send audit team to audit Sony Sugar Company as they claimed it was on its death bed financially. Speaking in Awendo after visiting the factory and talking to the famers, the senators agreed it is time to clean up the sugar company so that famers can enjoy their partnership with the company. Currently sugar cane farmers in the region are demanding close to 2 billion shillings from the company.
