The Kenya National Union of teachers, KNUT, has issued a two?week strike notice, beginning today until January 2nd next year failure to which, teachers countrywide will withdraw their labour to protest poor working conditions. While reading out the legal notice, KNUT Secretary General Wilson Sossion, clarified that unlike in the previous industrial action by teachers, the coming strike will not be about salaries but on working conditions for teachers. The giant teachers union is particularly incensed at what it claims to be dictatorial tendencies by the teacher employer, TSC, especially on transfers and other policies touching on the 2017 collective bargaining agreement, CBA.
