Bamboo curriculum in Vihiga

Students in technical vocational education training, Tvet institutions in Vihiga County become the first learners in the country to be taught the bamboo curriculum. This is after 68 managers and instructors from the Tvet centers got two week training on bamboo curriculum at Tiriki tropical gardens. vihiga governor Dr.wilber ottichilo is urging farmers to plant more bamboo trees along the water catchment areas due to its environmental benefit in the rehabilitation of degraded  hills, river banks and riparian lands. the initial  training was conducted by the international network for bamboo and rattan which saw learners display finished household items made from bamboo such as chairs, tables, toothpaste holders and hangers.
