A domestic dispute has ended tragically in Rongo after a woman burned her three children killing one of them. The other two, a boy and a girl aged 4 and 3 years respectively are nursing serious injuries in hospital. The woman also has serious self-inflicted injuries. The deceased child was six years old.

Emily Anyango Otieno. 26, who says she is the wife of an assistant chief locked herself and the children in a burning house due to what she say is pain caused by her husband. According to a neighbour who withheld his identity, Emily was enraged after he husband married a second wife. A nurse at Ombo Mission Hospital says the three have been stabilised and are out of danger.
