The United States of America today marks 242 years of independence, since their founding fathers declared their liberation from the British Empire. American ambassador to Kenya Robert Godec has led the celebrations here in Nairobi attended by both Americans in the country and Kenyans of goodwill. Foreign affairs permanent secretary Macharia Kamau has lauded the strong diplomatic relations between the two countries and the increased bilateral trade.
