Garissa sub?county commissioner Samuel Njuguna has warned parents in the area against marrying off their under aged girls. The administrator said that the girl child should be given the opportunity to pursue their careers and ‘adding that the government will act firmly on the perpetrators of FGM terming it as a retrogressive practice. Similarly, Garissa county children coordinator Mohamed Hussein condemned cases of parental neglect, child labor, incest and defilement, which he said, were on the rise in the county. They were speaking on the sidelines of day of the African child celebrations at Garissa primary school.
