At least 11 people are said to have died as a result of floods caused by heavy rains that have been ponding the country for the last 24 hours. four bodies were retrieved from river Athi at the Joska-Kamulu bridge this morning. Matungulu OCPD Samuel Mukuusi says police are searching for one other person who was in the company of the four victims who drowned while attempting to cross the swollen river last night. Due to the heavy downpour, there was heavy flooding on a section of Mombasa road at Athirver. Transportation to the residential premises like green park was totally paralysed.
