Police in Migori have launched investigations into the death of a prisoner who was intercepted while escaping on Saturday. The deceased was among three prisoners who attempted to escape during a church service but he was later arrested and returned to the prison. *** confirming the incident, Migori  County police commander Joseph Nthenge  said that  the  deceased  had complained  of some  pain  on the night he was recaptured and was rushed  to Migori  referral hospital where he succumbed. The police boss refuted claims that the deceased was tortured saying they are waiting for an autopsy results so as to ascertain the cause of his death. Nthenge added that the police have managed to arrest one of the escapees who had gone missing and he’ll be arraigned in court today. The body of the deceased is at Migori referral hospital.
