Hundreds of primary school children in Maralal were stranded for 4 hours after a river flooded following a heavy downpour in the region. The children were caught by rainfall and floods along Loikas stream after they had been earlier released by their teachers to go home when they saw signs of rainfall. Residents living along the river have called on the county and national governments to build two bridges to alleviate their children’s suffering.
