Deputy President William Ruto has arrived in New York to attend the United Nations general assembly that kicks off tomorrow. Ruto was welcomed by the permanent representative of Kenya to the United Nations, Macharia Kamau, and the country’s ambassador to the US, Robinson Njeru Githae. Ruto is leading at least 6 cabinet secretaries including foreign affairs cs Amina Mohammed and her devolution counterpart Mwangi Kiunjuri in the crucial summit. On the agenda is the implementation of the new global development goals adopted by the 193 member states last year. UNGA is one of the six principal organs of the United Nations and the only one in which all member nations has equal representation.
