Regional governments including Nigeria, Chad, Niger, Benin and Cameroon gathered in Abuja to discuss strategies to fight Boko Haram. Boko Haram has waged a seven-year insurgency in northern Nigeria and last year pledged loyalty to Islamic state, which has seized parts of Libya, Syria and Iraq.
