Several journalists were yesterday evening feted for their work at the intercontinental hotel in the Nairobi at the annual journalist of the year award that also coincided with world press freedom day. The council runs the annual journalism excellence awards in May each year with the objective of recognizing and awarding excellence in journalism, encouraging professionalism in practices of journalism and encouraging development journalism in Kenya. Journalist from The Standard Group scooped five of the awards.
