Senators and the National Government claim Governors are hindering county developments

The senate has slammed governors for allegedly undermining devolution. This comes a few days after the devolution conference that was held in Meru late last month. Speaker Ekwe Ethuro said that the senate shall seek to have civic education on the role of governors so that they can be held responsible for underperformance. Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen pointed out that some governors had converted county projects to individual projects in attempt to earn personal praise.
