Parliamentary commitee blames NLC and chief registrar for allegedly fueling land conflicts

Members of the parliamentary committee on land have blamed the National Land commission and the chief land registrar for allegedly fueling land conflicts in the country’s hot spot areas by being bias in addressing land historical injustices. Speaking after during a visit to 7,104 acres farm belonging to Nyandarua Progressive Agencies in Rongai, Nakuru County, led by their chairman Alex Muiru, the committee said both government institutions had failed to show commitment in resolving land wrangles in the country and threatened to take action against those culpable.The chairman accused NLC chairman Dr Muhammed Swazuri for being allegedly working in cahoots with land brokers and operating outside his mandate.Rongai MP Raymond Moi termed land wrangles as sensitive and urged the committee to ensure that the matter is resolve with speed and as he called on the warring more than 1, 500 shareholders to keep peace.
