Shock engulfed a village in Mathira east in Nyeri County after a woman was stabbed to death by her lover. According to witnesses, neighbours rushed to the scene after they heard screams from Winrose Gathoni aged 35 at Thuthwa shopping center. villagers say the two had been living together for the past three months after the demise of Gathoni’s husband in December last year. Those who rushed to the scene found a knife lodged in the deceased’s bosom. The suspect claims he had gone to visit the late Gathoni to deliver some three thousand shillings she had asked for only for him to find her in the company of another man in the house. Gathoni who was a hairdresser and operated a grocery shop, has left behind two children.
