Ethanol Impounded: Contraband seized from three aliens

24, Feb 2016

Three aliens have been arrested in Kajiado after being found in possession of suspected contraband goods. The suspects two of them Tanzanians and a Briton were on Sunday arrested after being found with over 100 litres of ethanol at Ilbisil town on Sunday night after the bus they were traveling experienced a puncture. Ally Aziz and Jovin Banyenza and Aderson Hamond were later arraigned in court before the senior principal magistrate Stephen Mbugi but did not take plea as the investigating officers asked for more time to offload said goods. A Kenyan national identified as Peter Njau was arrested attempting to bribe the police officers to release the cargo. Njau was found in possession of a pistol. Investigations are expected to reveal among other things how the goods got past border patrol without proper documentation.
