Today marks the world internet day with the global theme of “play your role for a better internet.” This conversation comes weeks after American based entertainment firm Netflix launch in Kenya caused an up roar over concerns about its content. Cabinet secretary for sports, arts and culture Dr Hassan Wario clarified that gatekeepers such as the Kenya film classification board are not in business of blocking technology growth, rather to create a framework to regulate content online.
