DP William Ruto heads to The Hague for a crucial part of his case

Deputy president William Ruto left the country this morning for the hearing of the no case to answer motion at the international criminal court at The Hague. The deputy president was seen off by 40 members of parliament led by national assembly majority leader Aden Duale and his senate counterpart Kithure Kindiki while at the Hague Ruto and radio journalist Joshua Arap Sang will attend the hearing of no case to answer motion. The hearing will mark the final push by the deputy president to have the crimes against humanity charges over the 2007 post-election violence terminated. During this week’s session the ICC appeals chamber will issue its ruling on whether or not ICC prosecutor Fatou Bensouda can rely on recanted evidence.
