MPs are now set to debate and approve or reject the nominations of all the new cabinet and principal secretaries by President Uhuru Kenyatta as well as members of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission. The 13 committees that vetted the seven nominees for cabinet secretary and the 24 principal secretaries recommended their approval. Nominees for cabinet secretary were vetted by the committee on appointments, headed by national assembly speaker Justin Muturi.
