Two maasai herdsmen kill famous Kenyan lion in Narok

A third lion has died in Narok after a pride featured on a BBC wildlife program was allegedly poisoned by Maasai herdsmen. The cub, known as Alan, had been recovering from the suspected episode of poisoning. Eight members of the pride of lions that featured BBC's long-running, big cat diary series were affected in the incident Two Maasai herdsmen have been charged with poisoning the lions. The poisoning is alleged to have taken place after the herdsmen illegally brought cattle on to the reserve and three were killed by the lions. The herdsmen, Simindei Naururi and Kulangash Toposatare, were charged of lacing one of the carcasses with pesticides
