President Barack Obama called Sunday for tougher gun controls in the wake of the California shootings, starting with a ban on gun purchases for anyone on a US Government no-fly list. The president also said the US would continue its current strategy of air strikes and working with local forces in Syria and would not be dragged into a ground war on foreign soil.
