Four men arrested in possession of sandalwood, released on Sh8M bond

A Nakuru court has released four people among them three administration police officers on a 8million shillings bond each after they were nabbed with a 20million shilling consignment of endangered sandalwood. Simon Kangethe Thuo, Athernus Nyota Rhonda, Augustine Manyumba and William Kiplagat Kirui who denied were arraigned before chief magistrate Doreen Mulekhyo after they were arrested by Kenya Wildlife Services rangers at Kiamunyi in Nakuru town on November 22 while transporting sandalwood from Baringo County. They were further charged with transporting forest produce without license from director of Kenya forest service. The case will be heard on 27th January next year.
