A section of Muslim clerics from the Coast region are demanding that the Judicial Service Commission of Kenya conducts fresh interviews for the positions of Kadhis. Led by SUPKEM Coast branch chairman Sheikh Muhdhar Khitamy, the clerics say the selection did not consider regional balance, and that the Chief Kadhi was reduced to a mere spectator.
