Hyacinth Boo-Wuro-Sigue Sanou wins 2015 overall CNN Multichoice African Journalist Of The Year Award

Hyacinthe boo-wuro-sigue sanou is the winner of this year’s overall CNN Multichoice African Journalist of the year award. Sanou won for his story ‘room 143’ which was published in a Burkinabé daily newspaper. It covered the ousting of Blaise Campaore, who had ruled Burkina Faso for 27 years. The enterprising journalist booked a room in the hotel in room 143 to snoop as his feature article took readers to the night before, when members of parliament met in the hotel and attempted to win sufficient support to extend campaore's term he was one of 32 finalists from 15 African countries who attended the CNN Multichoice African Journalist awards held in Nairobi, Kenya. The competition drew over 1, 400 entries this year from 39 African Countries Standard Group Cartoonist Paul Kelemba popularly known as Maddo made history by becoming the first one to be awarded the prestigious CNN Multichoice African Journalist of the year award winner in infrastructure category.
