Over 70 percent of Kenya’s population will be connected with power within the next two years

10th October, 2015

Over 70 percent of Kenya’s population will be connected with power within the next two years, the Kenya Power managing director Ben Chumo has announced. Chumo said for the last two years, a total of 1.8 million customers have been connected reaching the 4 million mark customers by yesterday. Speaking in Iten, when he commissioned a 10 million shillings street light project in Iten town, Chumo attributed the improved connectivity in the last two years to reduced cost which is affordable to many Kenyans.
