Kenya is marking two years since the Westgate attack amid mixed fortunes in the country’s fight against terrorism. Nearly 70 people were killed in the mall attack for which the Somalia terror group Al-shabaab took credit. Kenya has since put in place in counter-terrorism measures but a recent report by a state watchdog has accused police of using extra-judicial means to fight terror in the country. Several low key memorial events are planned in the city between today and tomorrow. Many of the survivors say the memories of the attack are still fresh in their minds.
