The security operation was launched to carry out a search on a vessel suspected to be carrying drugs and illegal arms. Kenya Ports Authority managing Director Gichiri Ndua and local police officers were locked out of the port as all gates remained tightly guarded by officers from Nairobi who were wearing Balaclavas.
