Green solar energy project rolls out solar lights in Kajiado households

21st August, 2015

Over 60 households in Kajiado county’s Kora area will now be lit up following the rolling out of solar lights by green solar energy project. The project seeks to mainly assist women and children in making their work easier. Residents were excited by the donation that will now see them reduce costs of lighting up their homes and allow their children to read at night. The residents have been relying on kerosene lit lamps for years that have not only affected their health and pockets but posed a danger of accidental fires. Volunteers for Africa has set aside 17 million shillings for the project. The project aims to reach all the 47 counties by 2016 in areas in need.
