Eugene Wamalwa sworn in as Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Water and Irrigation

He was sworn-in at state house Nairobi in a Ceremony witnessed by President Uhuru Kenyatta. Wamalwa was nominated on the 17th of April to head the ministry. President Kenyatta said the ministry is key in the development of the Agricultural sector. The president further said that his government is committed to initiating a legal, institutional and regulatory framework required to transform the water sector. This he said will ensure that it is accessible and affordable to all. Wamalwa previously served as Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister in the grand coalition government headed by former president Mwai Kibaki and former prime minister Raila Odinga.
