31st December, 2014
Intensified police patrols in Nyeri town and its environs have seen the reduction of criminal activities over the Chrismas festive season.
Central police regional Co-Ordinator Larry Kieng says that police recorded the lowest number of criminal activities ever as well as road accidents during the Chrismas holidays.
He attributed the low crime rate to numerous patrols conducted by the police with the assistance of prison officers. The police boss cautioned drivers against drunk- driving and speeding saying the two are responsible for some of the worst major accidents in the recent past.
