The UASIN Gishu branch of the Kenya National Union of Nurses is opposing the bid by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission to harmonize allowances of Public Officers. Union officials accuses the commission of overstepping its mandate of advisory in terms of salaries and allowances of public officers. They say that it is upon the employer and employee to negotiate salaries and allowances through a collective bargaining agreement.
