Aliko Dangote Nigerian billionaire named Forbes Africa person of the year 2014

Billionaire Nigerian business man, Aliko Dangote has been named as the Forbes Africa person of the year 2014. Dangote he beat a strong list of finalists to emerge tops for the coveted award, and was feted at the unveiling ceremony held in Nairobi. With businesses spanning across the continent, Dangote has made an impact not only in the industries he invests in but also to the lives of people. The award honors exceptional leaders who have made a lasting impact in the continent. Among the finalists were Thuli Madonsela, South Africa’s public protector, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Nigerian author, and the director-general of the securities & exchange commission Nigeria Arunma Oteh. President of the African development bank, Donald Kaberuka received the lifetime achievement award.
