First lady Margaret Kenyatta takes Beyond Zero Campaign to Turkana County

Turkana County is the latest to receive a mobile clinic meant to help mothers who are not able to access maternity health facilities. First lady Margaret Kenyatta launched the clinic in Lodwar town to aid thousands of women in the county. This is the eighth mobile clinic to be launched by the first lady in her beyond zero campaign that has seen her named united nations Kenya person of the year. Speaking during the launch Mrs. Kenyatta said that hiv aids is the biggest challenge to the future of Turkana county and also a threat to development. She called upon youths to abstain from irresponsible sexual behavior. The first lady who toured the Turkana county referral hospital was pleasantly surprised to find two newborn babies named Margaret Kenyatta.
