The annual initiative of the law society of Kenya runs from the 27th to the 31st October. This year’s theme is justice through sustainable legal aid. Chief justice Dr. Willy Mutunga, who was chief guest at the launch, emphasized that the week targets not just the poor and powerless but also the powerful and the elite. He gave counsel concerning a land case, giving a precedent to the lawyers present. The legal advice given Centre’s on land cases, succession, human rights violations and criminal law. The L.S.K. and other key stakeholders expect many Kenyans to take full advantage of the free legal advice.
