The case over the impeachment of Makueni governor Prof. Kivutha Kibwana has now been referred to chief justice Dr. Willy Mutunga. High court Judge Lilian Mutende sitting in Machakos referred the case to the chief justice to constitute a 3 judge bench to hear the case which is set to be mentioned on the 28th of this month. Makueni governor prof. Kivutha kibwana was impeached two weeks ago by makueni county assembly members who voted 35 to 10 to remove the governor from office over allegations off abetting corruption. Before prof. Kibwana’s impeachment the county assembly had also moved to impeach four of prof. Kibwana’s executive committee members including ministers for lands, water and agriculture.
