The ministry of environment signs a five-year plan to protect Kenya’s major natural water resources

14th October, 2014

The ministry of environment, water and natural resources and the European Union signed a five-year plan of action to protect two of Kenya’s five major natural water resources in Mount Elgon and Cherangani hills using 3.5 million shillings funding from the European Union. Speaking during the event, the ministry’s principal secretary, Dr. Richard Lesiyampe said this will help the government in its plan to protect the environment and address effects of climate change. This comes a week after the adaptation fund board approved release of 10 billion to support climate change.
