Police unearth a Nakuru car theft syndicate

Flying squad police in Nakuru have unearthed a car theft syndicate where they recovered several false registration number plates after they followed a vehicle that had been stolen at the NYS passing out parade in Gilgil yesterday. 10 sets of false number plates and engine firewalls, were found concealed in a house at Pakawa, Pipeline area in Nakuru. According to the car owner Michael Mugo, he noticed his car was missing 25 minutes after parking it at the ceremony ground and on enquiring from the officer controlling the traffic at the ground, he was directed to report the matter at Gilgil police station. Confirming the incident, Nakuru DCIO James Leila confirmed received the alert while on their official duty at the presidential function and immediately started tracing the vehicle which had been fitted with a car tracking device.
