Ministry of Roads and infrastructure puts contractors on notice over vandalism

The ministry of roads and infrastructure loses more that 300 million shillings every year to vandalism. Destruction of guard rails, foot bridges and erection of illegal road bumps are the major causes of the vandalism. speaking during the roads and infrastructure development consultative meeting here in Nairobi, the principle secretary in the ministry John Mosonik says contractors will be responsible for road maintenance in the country and will be held liable in case of any shoddy work with consequences including withdrawal of operating licenses and slap of heavy fines.
