Over 142 million shillings spent on hospital bills for Westgate attack victims

Just two months after the Westgate attacks, red cross in collaboration with the Kenya psychological association and save the children are all embarking on phase 2 of psychological support for the survivors and those affected during the September attacks. Kenya red cross secretary general Abass Gullet says they have been working with patients in different hospitals to ensure they receive proper health treatment. Abass added that over 142 million shillings that was raised by the Westgate Mpesa initiative has been used to pay for hospital bills for the victims who were not insured. The Kenya psychological association added that anyone needing psychological help can now go to the counselling centres set up in different parts of the country.
