Retail chain group Nakumatt over the weekend opened its 42nd branch in Nairobi’s South C area. The supermarket set up at a cost of 150 million shillings is located within Mugoya estate. According to Nakumatt’s chief executive officer Atul Shah, the branch was part of their recovery plan following the destruction of its westgate hypermarket after a terrorist attack two months ago. The chain store is also planning to open two additional stores in Lavington and Donholm as part of the comeback deal.The new outlet will also feature complimentary outlets like banks and eateries. The store is Nakumatt’s 18th branch within Nairobi county.
