Miraa traders will be in for more shock. This week the Machakos county governor signed into law, a new law requiring miraa transporters passing through Machakos to pay 10,000 shillings per trip. And now the Garissa county government is finalizing a law that will among other things prohibit open sale and consumption of miraa also those transporting miraa through Garissa will have to pay prescribed fees.
