Members of parliament on ICC pull-out
10th October, 2013
A section of lawmakers led by leader of majority in parliament Aden Duale say parliament will not relent in its efforts to pull Kenya out of the Rome statute. Duale disclosed that a draft bill seeking to quash enforcement of the international crimes act and effectively withdraw Kenya from the Rome statute will be introduced in the national assembly in two weeks. The legislators criticized former u-n secretary general Kofi Annan for warning African countries against quitting the Rome statute adding that the Hague based court was imperialist and only targeting African states.
