27, Aug 2013

Former Rift Valley police boss John M’mbijiwe and his former counterpart in the anti-stock theft unit Remi Ngugi were today accused of abuse of office. M’mbijiwe and Ngugi were expected to answer to these charges alongside suspected police imposter Joshua Waiganjo. The two are alleged to have abused their offices by allowing waiganjo to operate in their area of administration. They are also accused of allowing Waiganjo to use police vehicles with the knowledge that he was not a police officer. M’bijiwe and Ngugi denied the four charges and were released on a cash bail of 1 million shillings each. The state is expected to produce 60 witnesses to testify in the case set for the 12th of September.
