Tragic events in nyeri where two childred aged three and seven years died in a fire incident that razed down semi permanent houses in kiawara slums in the nyeri county. The fire that started at about six thirty p.m destroyed eleven houses.residents complained that the fire brigade did not arrive to assist as they had to put out the fire by themselves. The nyeri deputy county commssioner john marete said the cause of the fire is yet to be established. The fire engines did not arrive in kiawara to extinguish the fire as they are said to have been committed elsewhere in miagayuini in tetu where another fire had broken out.
