At least two people were killed early this morning and several others injured as inter clan clashes in mandera resumed despite a recent peace deal in the region. The attack took place in shirshir area of mandera, which is a degodia settlement and is said to be still ongoing. Several residents have been left homeless as houses were burnt and looted by the attackers. This is the 3rd attack since a peace agreement between the degodia and the garreh was signed. The latest incident also came as leaders from the degodia and gare clans were on a tour of rhamu and takaba to preach peace. The leaders had agreed that any side that violates the brokered peace deal was to pay 10 million shillings.
