As the government struggles to raise funds for teachers’ salaries and other demands, some stakeholders in the tourism sector have found a way of raising funds for themselves. The Ol Pejeta conservancy in Laikipia has resorted to constructing houses at the edge of the game park where money gotten from the Mt. Kenya housing project will go into conservation.
