Sycilia Wakesho's Bio

Sycilia Wakesho is a Swahili news anchor and bilingual reporter for KTN News. Among the shows that she anchors are Yanayojiri and Jarida that runs every day from 11am-1pm. It is during the show that she interviews various guests based on daily segments from gender issues, education and political matters on Fridays. On Saturdays you can always catch up with her during 4PM Mbiu Wikendi and 7pm KTN LEO WIKENDI Bulletin. She has also been reporting on segmented features Shujaa wa Wiki and Mwanamke Ngangari.

Prior to joining KTN News, Wakesho worked for GBS TV as a reporter/Anchor and producer. She began her media career in 2013 in a radio station after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Mass communication at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.

She is now in the process of writing a Swahili book aimed at giving an overall picture of present state of creative writing using the Swahili language.
