Fishing is the main economic activity for communities living on the shores of lake victoria. There are families that have for generations been eking a living from casting their nets in the deep lake waters in the dark of night, and selling the commodity during the day. But with new safety realities in the lake, and in the wake of more efficient and safer fiber boats, the traditional boat makers are a worried lot.
