International women's day is marked globally and is meant to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity, the theme for this year being “choose to challenge.” Where women from different divides have urged the rest of the women not settle and eye more leadership positions.
